Far away, where the hills meet the stars, there lived a little boy named Theo.
Beside him always was Willow, a soft bear cub with fur like warm honey.
Tonight, they followed a path of smooth stones into the quiet forest.
The air smelled like moss and rain.
Theo held Willow's paw gently.
"Let's find somewhere cozy," he whispered.
They walked beneath tall trees that swayed so softly.
The moonlight made everything glow silver-blue.
Then they saw it…
A warm hollow under the ferns, lit by tiny fireflies.
Inside the hollow, three friendly dinosaurs were resting.
A long-necked dinosaur with eyes like dark pools looked up.
"Welcome to our soft place," she said gently.
A round dinosaur with a shell hummed a low, rumbling hum.
The sound made Theo's chest feel warm.
A small feathered dinosaur curled beside the others, barely awake.
Theo stepped inside.
The ground was covered in thick, velvety moss.
Willow snuggled close to Theo's side.
"We come here when the world feels big," the long-necked dinosaur said softly.
Theo sat down.
The moss was softer than any blanket.
The fireflies drifted slowly, slowly, like tiny stars falling asleep.
The round dinosaur hummed again, deeper this time.
The sound wrapped around Theo like a lullaby.
"This is our soft place," Theo whispered, and Willow nodded against his shoulder.
The feathered dinosaur opened one sleepy eye.
"Stay as long as you like," she murmured.
Theo felt his eyes growing heavy.
The ferns above swayed in a gentle rhythm.
The air was warm and still.
He could hear the quiet breathing of the dinosaurs, slow and peaceful.
Willow's paw rested on Theo's hand.
The fireflies dimmed, one by one.
The long-necked dinosaur lowered her head onto the moss.
The round dinosaur's hum became softer, softer, until it was just a feeling in the air.
"This is our soft place," Theo said again, his voice barely a whisper now.
He laid his head on Willow's warm belly.
The moss cradled him.
The ferns made a roof of shadows and silver light.
All around him, the friendly dinosaurs were falling asleep too.
Theo closed his eyes.
Everything was safe.
Everything was warm.
Everything was exactly where it should be.
And in the warm hollow under the ferns, Theo and Willow and all the gentle dinosaurs drifted into the sweetest, softest dreams.
