Privacy Policy

SleepOmo is a bedtime-story app made for families. We care about protecting your privacy and your child’s. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

Who this app is for

SleepOmo is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian. Account creation, purchases, and settings are behind a parent area. Children are meant to listen to stories, not to create accounts or make purchases.

Information we collect

Account information: your email address when you sign in with email or Google.

Child profile information you choose to add: a first name or nickname, an optional age, an avatar, an optional favourite companion, and which pronouns stories should use for that child (she, he, or they — 'they' by default). We ask for pronouns only so the narration refers to your child correctly; it is a grammar setting for the story writer, not a record of anyone's identity, and you can change or clear it at any time. Please do not enter sensitive information.

Stories and content: the story prompts you enter and the stories generated for your family so we can save them to your library.

Story Companion conversations: when your child builds a story by talking to their companion, their words are turned into text on the device and that text is sent to us so the companion can reply and write the story. The conversation is stored with the session so the story can be finished, and it is deleted when you delete your account or withdraw consent. The audio itself is never uploaded.

Parental consent: we record that a parent accepted this disclosure, which version of it they saw, and when — so we can show consent was obtained, and so you are not asked again on every screen.

Voice recordings: if you choose to create a custom narration voice, the voice sample you record so we can generate narration in that voice. The sample is used only to narrate your own family's stories — never to train a shared or general purpose voice model, and never for another account.

Nightly story settings: if you schedule a nightly story in your own voice, the schedule you choose (which voice, how many stories, the story style, the time it should be ready by, your device's time-zone offset, and any one-off story request you type in).

Purchase information: records of subscriptions or star packs you buy. Payments are processed by Google Play — we do not receive your full card details.

Notification token: if you enable notifications, a device push token so we can tell you when a new story is ready.

Basic technical data: limited logs needed to operate and secure the service.

How we use information

We use it to create and save personalized stories, deliver audio, manage your account and purchases, send story notifications you opt into, provide support, and keep the service safe and reliable. We do not sell your or your child’s personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

How stories are generated

Stories and narration are produced using automated AI services. The prompt and personalization details you provide are sent to these processing services solely to generate your story.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to run SleepOmo, including cloud hosting (Amazon Web Services), push notifications (Google Firebase), sign-in and payments (Google), and AI text and voice services. They process data only to provide their part of the service.

Data retention

We keep your account, library, and purchase records while your account is active.

Nightly stories in your own voice are deliberately short-lived: their audio is automatically deleted about 7 days after it is delivered, because a nightly story is meant for that night. If you tap Save on one, it stays in your library like any other saved story until you remove it.

Your recorded voice sample is kept until you delete that voice (Parent Zone → Premium → your voices), or until you delete your account.

You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time using the contact below.

Your choices

You can edit or remove child profiles, turn notifications off in your device or app settings, and request access to or deletion of your data by contacting us.

Parental consent, and withdrawing it

Before we collect anything about a child, a parent has to review what is collected and accept it. Nothing about a child can be set up until that consent is recorded — creating a child profile, recording a narration voice and starting a Story Companion session are all refused without it.

You can withdraw consent at any time in the app: Settings → Privacy → 'Withdraw parental consent'. Withdrawing deletes the child data it covered — every child profile, recorded voice, generated story, Story Companion conversation and usage record — and keeps your account and any purchases, which are yours rather than your child's. Nothing about a child is collected again unless you consent again.

If we change what we collect, we ask again rather than assuming your earlier consent still covers it.

Children’s privacy

We designed SleepOmo to minimize data about children. What we hold about a child is only what a story needs: a first name or nickname, an optional age, an avatar, an optional companion, and the pronouns the story should use. There is no child login, no child email address, no contact details, no location, and no advertising profile. We do not show behavioral ads to children. If you believe a child provided us information you want removed, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data.

Data deletion

You can permanently delete your account and its associated data at any time, right inside the app: open Settings, go to the Account section, and tap 'Delete account.' Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will revise the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
