Long, long ago, when the world was young and gentle, there lived a little girl named Luna.
She lived in a cozy hollow nestled among soft ferns and moss.
Every evening, as the sky turned lavender, Luna would sit with her dear friend Marbles, a gentle rabbit with velvet-gray fur.
Tonight, Luna felt curious.
She wondered if the kind dinosaurs who lived beyond the ferns might like a visitor.
"Shall we go say hello?" she whispered to Marbles.
Marbles twitched his nose and leaned close, warm against her side.
Together they walked softly through the ferns.
The leaves brushed gentle and cool against Luna's hands.
Everything smelled like rain and earth.
Soon they reached a clearing where three enormous dinosaurs rested on a bed of moss.
One had a long, graceful neck that curved like a question mark.
Another had a wide, friendly face and kind, blinking eyes.
The third was small and round, humming a low, sleepy tune.
Luna took a quiet breath.
She felt a little unsure… but Marbles stayed right by her side, his warmth steady and calm.
"Hello," Luna said softly.
The dinosaurs turned their great heads.
Their eyes were warm as candlelight.
"Hello, little one," rumbled the long-necked dinosaur, her voice like distant thunder wrapped in velvet.
Luna smiled.
She sat down in the moss, and Marbles nestled into her lap.
The dinosaurs began to hum together, a slow and gentle song.
It sounded like the earth itself singing.
Luna felt the hum in her chest, soft and safe.
"This is the song of the hollow," the round dinosaur murmured.
"We sing it every night."
Luna closed her eyes and listened.
The song wrapped around her like a blanket.
She felt brave enough to hum along, just a little.
Her voice blended with theirs, quiet and true.
The stars began to appear, one by one, in the lavender sky.
The ferns swayed in a whisper of breeze.
"This is the song of the hollow," Luna whispered to Marbles.
"It helps everything sleep."
The dinosaurs lowered their heads to the moss.
Their breathing grew slow and deep.
Luna lay back, her head resting on soft moss.
Marbles curled against her, warm and still.
"This is the song of the hollow," she thought, as her eyes grew heavy.
The stars blinked softly above.
The ferns whispered goodnight.
And in the warm fern hollow, Luna, Marbles, and the gentle dinosaurs drifted together into the sweetest, safest sleep.
