Once upon a time, in a small house at the top of a hill, there lived a child named Luna. Luna loved to look out their window at night. They loved the way the stars winked and glowed. But tonight, Luna couldn't sleep. They felt a soft, restless flutter in their chest. So Luna tiptoed to the window. Their gentle rabbit, Marbles, hopped quietly beside them. Marbles' fur was warm and soft, like a cloud. "The stars are humming tonight," Luna whispered. And they were. A low, gentle hum filled the air, like a lullaby made of light. Luna opened the window just a little. The hum grew warmer. It wrapped around them like a blanket. "Do you hear it, Marbles?" Luna asked softly. Marbles twitched their nose and snuggled closer. Luna decided to follow the hum. They put on their softest slippers. Marbles hopped along, one gentle thump after another. Outside, the grass was cool and damp. The night air smelled like honey and mint. The stars above glowed brighter now, humming their sleepy song. "The stars are humming tonight," Luna said again, and smiled. They walked to the top of the hill. There, the sky felt close enough to touch. Luna lay down in the soft grass. Marbles nestled into the crook of Luna's arm. Luna reached one hand up toward the stars. The hum grew softer, deeper, like a heartbeat. It filled Luna's whole body with warmth. "Why are you humming?" Luna whispered to the stars. And somehow, Luna knew the answer. The stars hummed because the night was peaceful. They hummed to help everyone feel safe and loved. Luna closed their eyes and listened. The hum was in the grass beneath them. It was in Marbles' gentle breathing. It was in Luna's own sleepy, slowing heartbeat. "The stars are humming tonight," Luna murmured one last time. Their voice was soft as a feather. Marbles' ears drooped, heavy with sleep. Luna felt the hum carry them, soft and slow. They felt the cool grass and the warm rabbit. They felt the whole sky watching over them, gentle and kind. And so, with Marbles tucked close and the stars humming their lullaby, Luna drifted into the deepest, coziest sleep. The night held them softly. The stars kept humming. And Luna dreamed of nothing but warmth and light.
