On a soft and sleepy evening, when the sky turned pink and gold, a little girl named Nora stood at her window. She held a small golden lantern in her hand. The light inside glowed warm and gentle. Beside her stood Clover, a tiny lamb with wool as soft as clouds. "The neighbors need a little light tonight," Nora whispered. Clover blinked her dark, sleepy eyes and stayed close. So Nora opened the door, and together they stepped into the quiet evening. The air smelled of grass and honeysuckle. Their footsteps made soft sounds on the path. Nora held the lantern high, and the light danced gently ahead of them. "A little light makes everything warmer," Nora said softly. Clover's small hooves clicked beside her, steady and calm. They walked to the old stone cottage where Mrs. Ivy lived. Her candles had gone out, and her windows were dark. Nora tapped softly on the door. Mrs. Ivy opened it, her shawl wrapped tight. "Oh, my dear," she said. "How kind you are." Nora held up the lantern. "We brought you some light," she whispered. The golden glow filled the cottage doorway. Mrs. Ivy smiled and lit her own candle from Nora's flame. "A little light makes everything warmer," she said gently. Clover nuzzled against Nora's leg. They walked on, slower now, through the sleepy village. At the garden gate, old Mr. Finch sat on his bench. He looked up at the stars but couldn't quite see them. Nora lifted the lantern beside him. "Now I can see," he said softly. "Thank you, little one." The light made the flowers glow like they were dreaming. "A little light makes everything warmer," Nora whispered. Clover yawned, a tiny sleepy sound. They turned toward home, the lantern swaying gently. The path seemed softer now. The stars above blinked slow and kind. Inside, Nora set the lantern on the windowsill. Its light glowed out into the night, warm and steady. She climbed into bed, and Clover curled beside her feet, soft and warm. "We helped tonight," Nora murmured. Her eyes grew heavy. The lantern's glow made shadows dance on the walls, gentle as a lullaby. Outside, the village rested. Every window held a little light. Every heart felt a little warmer. And Nora, with Clover close and safe, drifted into the softest, sweetest sleep.
