Clover had the softest wool, white as fresh snow, and a pink ribbon around her neck.
Every evening, Nora and Clover would sit on the hill and watch the sky.
But tonight, the sky looked different.
The clouds were painted pink and gold, and they seemed to glow from the inside.
"I wonder what's behind those clouds," Nora whispered.
Clover nuzzled her hand and made a soft, gentle sound.
"Baa…"
So Nora stood up, and together they walked up the hill, higher and higher, toward the glowing clouds.
The grass felt cool beneath Nora's feet.
The air smelled like rain and clover blossoms.
When they reached the very top of the hill, something magical happened.
A rainbow began to appear, very slowly, like a ribbon unrolling across the sky.
It wasn't bright and bold — it was soft and sleepy, with colors like whispered secrets.
"Look, Clover," Nora said softly. "It's a rainbow just for us."
Clover stepped closer and touched the edge of the rainbow with her tiny hoof.
The rainbow hummed, a low, peaceful sound, like a lullaby made of light.
Nora reached out her hand.
The rainbow felt warm and gentle, like being wrapped in a blanket made of clouds.
"I wonder what's at the end," she whispered.
Clover looked up at her with sleepy eyes, and Nora understood.
They didn't need to find the end.
The rainbow was right here, glowing softly just for them.
So Nora sat down in the grass, and Clover curled up beside her, resting her small head on Nora's lap.
The rainbow arched over them like a cozy roof.
The clouds drifted by, slow and quiet, carrying the last light of the day.
"It's a rainbow just for us," Nora said again, her voice barely a whisper now.
The sky grew softer.
The colors faded into gentle purples and blues.
The stars began to peek through, one by one, like tiny silver bells.
Clover's breathing was slow and even.
Her wool was warm against Nora's hand.
Nora closed her eyes.
She could still see the rainbow behind her eyelids, glowing softly, wrapping around her like a dream.
The hill was quiet.
The air was cool and sweet.
And there, beneath the sleepy sky, Nora and Clover drifted off together, safe and warm, with the rainbow watching over them like a gentle friend.
