Long, long ago, in a cozy tower at the edge of the meadow, lived a child named Theo and their friend Willow, a soft bear cub with fur like velvet.
Every night, Theo and Willow climbed the winding stairs to the very top of the tower to look at the stars.
But tonight, the sky felt different.
The stars seemed dim and faraway, and Theo felt a wobbly, fluttery feeling in their tummy.
"The stars look sleepy tonight," Theo whispered.
Willow pressed close and made a gentle humming sound, soft as a lullaby.
Together, they watched the sky.
One by one, the stars began to blink and fade, as if they were closing their eyes.
"Maybe the stars need tucking in," Theo said softly.
Willow nodded, and they both stood very still, wondering what to do.
Then Theo noticed something magical.
A silver thread of light was floating down from the sky, soft and glowing.
It drifted through the open window and landed in Theo's hands, cool and gentle as moonlight.
"It's starlight," Theo whispered.
They held the thread carefully, and Willow touched it with one soft paw.
The thread grew longer, weaving itself into a shimmering blanket that sparkled and glowed.
"We can tuck the stars in," Theo said, feeling a little braver now.
Theo and Willow carried the starlight blanket to the window.
Together, they lifted it up toward the sky.
The blanket floated higher and higher, spreading across the darkness like a soft, glowing quilt.
The stars nestled into the blanket, one by one.
Their light grew softer and warmer, like candles behind a curtain.
"The stars are cozy now," Theo whispered.
Willow hummed their gentle lullaby again, and Theo felt the sound wrap around them like a hug.
The sky was calm and peaceful.
A few stars peeked through the blanket, twinkling sleepily, just enough to light the way.
Theo yawned, and Willow yawned too, showing tiny bear teeth.
They climbed down the winding stairs together, slowly, holding paws.
The tower felt warmer now, filled with the soft glow from the starlight blanket above.
Theo and Willow curled up in their bed by the window.
Willow tucked their soft head under Theo's chin.
Through the glass, they could see the stars resting under their blanket, peaceful and still.
"We tucked the stars in," Theo whispered.
Willow made one last gentle hum, soft as a breath.
Theo's eyes grew heavy.
The starlight blanket glowed above them, calm and cozy.
The whole world felt safe and warm.
And together, with the stars watching over them, Theo and Willow drifted off to sleep.
