Once upon a time, in a little house at the top of a quiet hill, there lived a child named Ollie.
Every night, Ollie looked out their window at the stars.
The stars twinkled like tiny silver lights in the deep, soft sky.
Ollie's best friend was Pip, a little owl with feathers as white as moonlight.
Pip sat on the windowsill, blinking their big round eyes.
"I wish I could touch the stars," Ollie whispered.
Pip ruffled their soft feathers and hooted gently.
"Maybe we can," Pip said in their quiet, whispery voice.
That night, something magical happened.
A silver blanket floated down from the sky, slow and gentle as a falling leaf.
It landed on Ollie's bed with a soft whoosh.
The blanket was covered in tiny glowing stars that twinkled and hummed.
Ollie touched the blanket.
It felt warm and soft, like a hug made of light.
"It's a starwhisper blanket," Pip said softly.
Ollie climbed under the blanket, and Pip nestled close beside them.
The stars on the blanket began to glow brighter, warm and gentle.
Ollie felt like they were floating, soft and safe, up among the stars.
But then Ollie worried.
"What if the stars float away?" they whispered.
Pip tucked their wing around Ollie.
"The stars stay because you keep them close," Pip said.
Ollie held the blanket tight.
The stars hummed a soft, sleepy song that sounded like wind through tall grass.
Ollie could feel the warmth spreading from their toes to their nose.
Outside the window, the real stars twinkled.
They seemed to be winking at Ollie, saying goodnight.
Ollie smiled.
"The stars stay because you keep them close," Ollie whispered back.
The blanket grew warmer and softer.
Pip's feathers were so cozy against Ollie's cheek.
Ollie's eyes felt heavy, like two smooth pebbles sinking into warm sand.
The stars on the blanket twinkled slower… slower… slower…
Ollie took a deep, sleepy breath.
The whole room smelled like night air and honey.
"Thank you, stars," Ollie murmured.
Pip hooted the softest hoot, almost like a lullaby.
The starwhisper blanket wrapped around them both, warm and snug.
Ollie's breathing grew slow and gentle.
The stars on the blanket glowed like tiny nightlights, keeping them safe.
"The stars stay because you keep them close," Pip whispered one last time.
And Ollie, safe and warm under their starwhisper blanket, with Pip tucked close beside them, drifted softly into the most peaceful sleep, dreaming of silver light and gentle, twinkling stars.
