Rosa yawned and rubbed her eyes. Her tiny dragon friend Ember curled on her shoulder, warm as a sunbeam. "The stars look fuzzy tonight," Rosa whispered. Ember chirped softly and pointed one small claw toward the garden. Outside Rosa's window, the night garden was glowing. Tiny golden flowers were opening, one by one. Each flower held a sleepy little star inside. Rosa stepped into the soft grass in her bare feet. The ground was warm and gentle. Ember flew down and landed on a flower petal. "The stars are so sleepy," Rosa said quietly. "They can't float up to the sky." She knelt down beside the flowers. One little star blinked at her, slow and tired. Rosa had an idea. She began to hum, very softly. The same lullaby her mama sang every night. *Hush now, little light, the moon is shining bright.* Ember hummed too, a tiny dragon purr. The sound was warm and rumbly. The sleepy little stars began to glow a bit brighter. One star lifted gently from its flower. It floated up, slow as a feather. Rosa kept humming. *Hush now, little light, the moon is shining bright.* More stars lifted, drifting like dandelion wishes. They rose into the velvet sky, twinkling softly. The garden grew quieter with each floating star. The flowers folded their petals, ready for sleep. Rosa yawned again. Ember nestled against her cheek, his scales silky and warm. "We helped them," Rosa whispered. The last star floated up and winked at her. *Hush now, little light, the moon is shining bright.* Rosa walked back inside. Her bed looked so cozy and soft. She climbed under her blanket. Ember curled up on the pillow beside her. Through the window, all the stars were glowing gently in the sky. The night was warm and still. Rosa closed her eyes. The stars watched over her, soft and bright. And Rosa drifted off to sleep.
