Once upon a time, there lived a kind emperor who loved beautiful clothes.
He had soft velvet robes and silk pajamas in every color of the rainbow.
Every morning, he would try on different outfits and smile at himself in the mirror.
One day, two travelers came to the palace.
They said they could weave the most magical cloth in all the world.
"This cloth is so special," they whispered, "that only the wisest people can see it."
The emperor was curious and asked them to begin weaving right away.
The two weavers set up their looms in a cozy room.
They pretended to thread invisible needles and weave invisible thread.
Their hands moved back and forth… back and forth… like a gentle lullaby.
The emperor sent his kindest advisor to see how the cloth was coming along.
The advisor looked at the empty loom.
She couldn't see any cloth at all, but she didn't want to seem unwise.
"Oh my," she said softly, "what lovely colors."
When the weavers said the cloth was ready, the emperor came to see.
He looked at the empty loom and felt confused.
He couldn't see anything either, but he didn't want anyone to know.
"How beautiful," he said gently, pretending to touch the cloth.
The weavers smiled and pretended to dress him in the invisible outfit.
They acted like they were buttoning buttons and smoothing sleeves.
The emperor decided to walk through town in his new "clothes."
His advisors walked beside him, all pretending to see the beautiful outfit.
The townspeople had heard about the magical cloth too.
They all nodded and smiled, even though they couldn't see anything.
Then a little child, holding her father's hand, said something true.
"But he isn't wearing any clothes," she said softly.
Her father smiled and whispered, "You're right, little one."
One by one, people began to giggle… then laugh… then chuckle warmly.
The emperor realized what had happened and started to laugh too.
"You're all very wise," he said with a gentle smile, "and I've been very silly."
Everyone laughed together, not in a mean way, but in a warm, friendly way.
The emperor hurried back to the palace, wrapped in a soft, cozy robe.
From that day on, he wore his comfortable, real clothes with pride.
He learned that being honest and kind was better than pretending.
The two travelers quietly left town, and no one minded at all.
The emperor invited the little child and her father to the palace for cookies.
They all sat together, sipping warm milk and sharing stories.
That night, the emperor put on his softest pajamas.
He climbed into his comfortable bed and pulled up his warm blankets.
He thought about his friends and smiled.
Outside his window, the stars twinkled gently in the sleepy sky.
And the kind emperor closed his eyes…
And drifted off to the most peaceful dreams…
