Once upon a time, there lived a shepherd boy on a gentle hillside.
His job was to watch the fluffy sheep as they nibbled soft grass.
The sheep wandered slowly, munching and resting in the warm sun.
The boy sat under a shady tree and watched the clouds drift by.
Sometimes he felt a little lonely up on the quiet hill.
One day, he had a silly idea…
"Wolf! Wolf!" he called down to the village below.
The kind villagers heard him and came running up the hill to help.
But when they arrived, there was no wolf at all.
Just the boy, giggling, and the sheep, munching peacefully.
The villagers smiled and shook their heads gently.
"Please only call if you really need us," they said softly.
Then they walked back down the hill.
The next day, the boy felt lonely again.
"Wolf! Wolf!" he called once more.
Again the villagers hurried up the hill, worried and kind.
Again there was no wolf — only the boy and the sleepy sheep.
This time the villagers looked sad.
"We want to help you," they said gently, "but we need to trust your words."
They walked slowly back to the village.
The boy felt sorry in his heart.
The next day, he sat very quietly under his tree.
He watched a butterfly land on a flower.
He listened to the sheep's soft bleating.
He realized how much the villagers cared about him.
When they came up the hill that evening to check on him, he smiled.
"I'm sorry," he whispered. "I understand now."
The villagers hugged him warmly.
From that day on, the boy was honest and kind.
The villagers trusted him.
The sheep grazed peacefully.
And every night, the boy went home to a cozy bed, feeling loved and safe…
