"Run deep into the woods," he whispered softly.
"Find somewhere safe and happy."
Snow White walked and walked through the quiet trees.
The forest birds sang to comfort her.
A deer walked beside her for a while.
Soon she found a tiny cottage in a clearing.

The little door was unlocked.
Snow White peeked inside.
Everything was small… seven little chairs, seven little beds.
She was so tired from walking.
She tidied the cottage and made it cozy.
Then she lay down across the little beds and fell fast asleep.

When she woke, seven kind dwarfs stood around her.
They had long beards and twinkling eyes.
"Who are you?" they asked gently.
Snow White told them her story.
"You can stay with us," they said warmly.
"We work in the mountain, digging for jewels, but we'll keep you safe."
Snow White was so happy.
She cooked and cleaned, and they all became the best of friends.

Back at the castle, the queen asked her mirror again.
It told her Snow White was alive and well.
The queen decided to visit the cottage herself.
She dressed as an old peddler woman.
She brought a beautiful red apple.
Half of it would make someone sleep… but only for a little while.

The queen knocked on the cottage door.
Snow White was kind, even to strangers.
"Would you like a pretty apple?" the old woman asked.
Snow White took a small bite.
The magic worked, and she fell into a deep, peaceful sleep.
The dwarfs found her when they came home.
They were so sad.
They made her a beautiful bed of flowers in the garden.
They sat with her every day, hoping she would wake.

One morning, a kind prince was riding through the forest.
He heard the dwarfs singing a gentle song.
He came to see what was wrong.
When he saw Snow White sleeping among the flowers, his heart was touched.
"She looks so peaceful," he said softly.
He knelt beside her and whispered, "Please wake up."
His kind words broke the apple's spell.
Snow White's eyes fluttered open.
She smiled at the prince and at her dear dwarf friends.

The prince asked if Snow White would like to come to his castle.
"Only if my friends can visit whenever they wish," she said.
